I have been in panic mode since last month...but that doesn't get me close to finishing any challenge at all!

All the challenge books i think of reading are books tat i dnt want to read now :D

And on the way i just go on signing up new ones! I have lost hope for myself! i m sure i have a psychological issue.. and i m fed up of it ;) :D :D

There are a few challenges that I am doing so poorly on that I have moved from panic mode into "throw up my hands in defeat" mode. I'm still going to give them my best shot, but there are a few that are going to be impossible to finish. And really, that's ok. I joined the challenges for fun, as a way to stretch my reading, and in that I have been a success. (I just keep telling myself that so I don't switch back into panic mode.) :)

I am happy to announce that the genre challenge blog is finally up and running! Due to some real life problems, this has taken longer than planned, but now that it’s finished, I invite you over to post your reviews there. It’s at http://genrechallenge.blogspot.com/

The process is really simple, just post the link to your review in the comments of the appropriate post. An example: if you reviewed a fantasy book for the genre challenge, post the review in the comments of the Fantasy Fiction Reviews 2008-2009 post.

Because of the transfer from my general book blog to the genre challenge blog, some review links might have become lost, so please check to see if all of your reviews have been linked. If not, please repost the links I missed. According to my information, you have posted links for the following genres: detective, horror, thriller, science fiction, realistic, historical, western. Which means you are missing these genres: crime, mystery, romance, action/adventure, fantasy.

Just to remind you, to be eligible for the prize drawing, all of your reviews must be posted before 1 November 2009.

AAAGGGHHHHHH!!!!! HOW did I not know about the LJ Smith reading challenge?! I'm a huuuuuge fan having loved her stuff when I was growing up. In fact, I just bought a three-book edition of the Night World books for my stepdaughter today. I'd heard about the Vampire Diaries series, but I didn't realize it was approaching so soon! I'm so excited. Going to set the Tivo RIGHT NOW!

I've only signed up for two challenges and I'm severely neglecting both of them. Luckily one of the challenges doesn't end until next summer. The other ends 12/31/09. And I've only read 3/12 books! Yikes!

Can someone post a link to the Back to School Challenge? That sounds interesting. Also, how does one find these challenges? I've come across them by accident. Is there a way to search for them? Or you just find them by pure luck?

I think I might actually finish all my challenges this year. I'm crossing my fingers anyway! :-) I LOVE all these reading challenges, but I think next year I'm going to take a break from them and see what I read when left to my own devices now that I've broadened my reading landscape with two years of challenges.

I get SO tempted by challenges, I had to unsubscribe by the A Novel Challenge blog! lol I just joined the Canadian one as well, and the Japanese Lit and a China one and the Banned Books one.

And I'm trying really hard to convince myself that I don't need to join the Back to School Challenge, but I've already started a draft post about it.
