I&#39;ve always wanted to read something by Laura Lippman. I can totally see how Cassandra became a frustrating character for you. I often wonder whether authors do that on purpose or get so sucked into their own character&#39;s world that they forget about anything else. It&#39;s hard to really love a book when you don&#39;t feel a connection to the character. I have a friend who has one son who swears things happened at home that no one else (including his mom) remembers. In fact, they all have told him multiple times that his memory is wrong.
